It makes sense for dhul qadah to muharram to be holy because of hajj travels but why rajab?

These do not seem like convincing reasons given that Ali رضي الله عنه and the other caliphs being born doesn’t seem like a big enough event and isra was a vision according to Ghamidi sahab

Again some is related to isra. Also the facts of Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم being conceived snd his parents getting married- I would like to see evidence for this.
It can’t be related to travel because you don’t travel to hajj in rajab.
I think it’s just chosen for some reason we don’t know then?

Here is my Personal Opinion: It might be that the month of Rajab falls very close to Ramzan. And Allah Talla wants us to prepare for this holy month mentally and physically. God Knows Best.
Also Rajab may also be related to a verb meaning “to remove”, so called because pre-Islamic Arabs would remove the heads of their spears and refrain from fighting.

This months was set aside for umrah purposes.

Travelling would still take one month either side though….

Since Hajj is performed on a fixed date, any contingency happening in travelling would result in missing of the Hajj date. Therefore, more room was given for travelling purposes to avoid any contingency. However, Umra on the other hand can be performed anytime, therefore travelling can be planned accordingly considering any contingencies that may happen, and also delays would not result in missing of one’s Umra as opposed to Hajj.
