Quran states that Allah may allow some people to intercede on other’s behalf. Does that mean asking dead or alive religious person for intercession on their behalf is good practice?

Brother Umer, the thread you referred to is about intercession by prophets. Does that means no one else can intercede except prophets? My question is specifically about people going to saint’s graves or living saints and asking them to perform supplication for their forgiveness as an intercession. So asking others for supplication on their behalf as an intercession.

Asking someone alive for a simple prayer (dua) is something commendable, but intercession as a terminology of Quran has different implications. Intercession on the day of judgement is subject solely to Allah’s decision after Allah decides for someone to be subject to intercession by the prophets or other pious people. There is neither any concept, nor any basis in Quran for asking from dead people. It falls under polytheism.
