Mosques, Monastaries, synagogues are all places of worship of Allah. All belong to the same faith of Islam, some gone astray. What instruction or sunnah would stop a muslim from praying salah in these places of worship?

Did Sahaabah pray Salah in the church? at the time of the conquest of Jerusalem?

Your views on Conversion of Hagia Sophia into a Mosque which I understand was originally a church!

I think it’s a historical site and there’s no objective reason to convert it to a mosque and invite hostility from other groups.

I think if there is shirk done in these places now, and there is a mosque nearby, then there is no reason to pray in such places.
