Zakat On Plots
To built a house in Pakistan I bought few lots. My plan was to keep one lot for the house and sell others and use the funds for construction. Unfortunately due to personal and corona related issues the plan is in limbo. Do I owe zakat on these lots?? Guidance is needed. JAK

Items of personal use are exempt from Zakat including a plot purchased for house to be built upon it (with pure intention of being used for personal use only). However, if plot has been kept as an investment for capital appreciation, then there will be Zakat on that plot.
