    Slavery Ending From POWs

    Isn’t a way of slaves becoming slaves from debt? Or another is that slaves require financial help and they don’t want to get an actual job so they make themselves dependant on another family? So would slavery really end under just making it haraam to make slaves form POWs?

    That was the main source (POWs) at that time from where slaves were being created. The financial dependency alone doesn’t make one a slave of the other in that sense. Being a slave means that your body and and your personality has no right on you, a person buying you takes control of all such rights. Equating ‘Slavery’ with financial dependency seems like downplaying it.

      Well not Islamic slavery surely- we are told we can’t beat them and of course we have to treat them with respect. I’m sure this isn’t like the trans-Atlantic trade
