    Assalam u Alaikum

I have a question regarding watching YouTube videos from unofficial channels. Some YouTube channels are made by people to make quick money using Ads. They upload content that is copyrighted material. They obviously don’t own the copyright. My question is “Is it okay for people to watch these videos knowing that the videos are not from official channel and someone illegally downloaded it from official channel and and uploaded it to their own? Does any responsibility fall upon viewers in this scenario?”.

    Jazakallah

YouTube has automated checks in place to protect copyrighted material. They also allow copyright owners to report videos on other channels as violations of copyright.

As consumers we can trust that videos on YouTube are either shared with copyright owner’s consent, or at least the owners haven’t raised any objections on them.
