Member November 20, 2021 at 8:18 amthis is becoming an issue in muslims living abroad. More and more muslims have non-muslims friends and since most other faith have secularized a lot, they invite their muslims friends to weddings, birthdays etc
the issue is not an islamic issue but personal. Being part of shirk is not allowed, drinking alcohol, eating pork is not allowed etc etc. We all know that.
if you can avoid the shirk part of the ceremony then do not attend, or if u can tell your friend that you can come but would stand outside or something during the ritual then you should attend. This is your decision. Personally, I would attend but not participate in the ceremony if its polytheistic in nature.
