Assalamualaikum
It is said that the Prophet (PBUH) had the Quran written down by the scribes in his own blessed lifetime. Is there any evidence of that Quran today? Why was it considered necessary after the death of the Prophet (PBUH) to make an authentic copy of the Quran in the time of Abu Bakr (RA)? Why was it that paper or leather could not be used in the lifetime of the Prophet but was used immediately afterwards in the lifetime of Abu Bakr (RA) and then Uthman (RA) when official copies were made? Why was an official copy not made in the lifetime of the blessed Prophet?
