I’ve heard that court marriages are permissible in Islam.
Wali is not mandatory too..
The idea I got from Ghamidi sahab about Nikah is that ‘If a man and woman declares that they’re Husband and wife now’ then all conditions for nikah have been fulfilled.
So Imagine while declaring this, if both of them agree on condition that Husband won’t be having responsibility to earn for a living. Like both are financially independent and they just want to be complimentary partners of each others. This is an idea of what we call ‘Live-in relationship’ today.
So if a couple living in live-in declares that they’re living in Live-in, will it be conceptualised as a Nikah? -
