Ghamidi sahab said that the social consciousness of people wasn’t on that level that’s why at that time monarchy was the appropriate option (as i have understood him).So if that was the social consciousness level of people at that time and today we are taking democracy from west instead of Quran,so at first place why did Quran gave that principle of consultation (amruhum shuraa bainahum),why didn’t Quran say like other things that the most appropriate system according to your time, take that system like nationalism is appropriate for today but Quran is silent on that system that should a state be on religion, language, colour etc

Quran talks when some ethical concern is there. in politics and governance, Quran guided the right way “Mutual Consultation”. It was his subject to show the right path in this matter as it showed them the right direction in the case of slavery and told them to set them free and make no free man a slave and to keep one wife preferably as they cannot do justice with them, but the if the society is not ready socially, it can’t adopt such injunctions which are not binding but the preferable way to adopt.

Not to consult people in the matter they are a stakeholder is unethical. while nationalism in its essence is not good nor bad. So Quran in such matter stay silent. but when for example nationalism becomes a nuisance for other nations, Quran come forward to tell not to harm others.
