We are told in Quran that good deeds do benefit in this world too as we find in the anecdote of Moses and the man he met in Surah Kahaf, the two orphan boys, their wealth was preserved for them because their father was a pious man. also we know that Dua is a request to God for His favour which God accepts if He wills and responds according to His knowledge and wisdom.
