Objectives Of Masjid Other Than Salah
What are the objectives of Masjid, is building them a responsibility of State. Here in Pakistan, we see a very sorry state of affairs at Masaajid which are dominated by the whatever firqa holds power over it.
What have been Masaajid’s used as in the just Islamic Ruler’s era.

The primary purpose of mosque is to provide a place for congregational prayer.
Then it can be used for other practices which are not in violation of the sanctity of mosque. In the time of the prophet and the caliphs mosque was the centre of governmental, educational and social activities. it was used as monastery too.
The administration of mosque is the responsibility of the Muslims rulers as stated by the Quran that they need to establish the system for prayer.
