Permissibility Of Castration For A Homosexual Muslim Man
Asalamualaikum,
If a person experiences same-sex attractions (aka homosexuality) and has no interest in forcing themselves into a heterosexual marriage, they must lead a life of celibacy.
– Would it be permissible for them to undergo any form of castration as this would prove to be beneficial to pass the test they undergo by reducing the desires they face rather than seeking other, more harmful, methods such as suicide (which is clearly haram)?
– Will Allah سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَىٰ change that specific person if they were to enter Jannah to fit the normal human desire? If so, how should a person cope with the fact that they will never experience what their hearts have desired and will eventually have to be changed?

Technically, if medical doctors advise that castration should curb sex drive and one goes through this procedure then it can’t be strictly termed as haram or impermissible. In my limited understanding though, this procedure doesn’t completely curb sex drive. Experts in the field should certainly be consulted before taking any such step.
If one is able to channelize their energy on creative activities and shift their focus to them then the problem might be subsided without taking such a dire step. Also please keep in mind that there might be better options available e.g. counseling and therapies that might yield even better results.

What we know with certainty about the Day of Judgement is that we will be granted new bodies, and that absolute justice shall be served on that day. Once we get selected for Jannah, none of our wishes and desires will go unfulfilled, and we will live an eternal life of joy and comfort where neither shall we have any regrets of the past nor any fears of the future.
With this we can conclude that if someone is only given certain tendencies in this world as a trial then such trials will be completely lifted from them in the hereafter. However, if such tendencies are in fact part of someone’s creation then they will be provided with abundant means in the Jannah to fulfill their desires.

I apologize for dragging the thread, but I have just one last question.
It is very clear that homosexuality is a test and so, according to your explanation, this would be removed from a person provided they enter heaven.
Would it be appropriate to assume that such a person may decide to not have any sexual attraction once they enter Jannah rather than be attracted to the opposite gender once the trial is removed. Hypothetically, this would be because they do not have any interest in the opposite gender (and they would like this part to remain) and would rather have the sexual urge completely removed than be with the opposite gender.
Surely Allah سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَىٰ would not force a person to engage in something they do not want to.
