    السلام علیکم

I wanted to ask whether it would be a good idea for common people like me who aren’t scholars to teach children portions from the Quran that are relevant at their stage. For example, teaching young children Surah Al-Hujurat. The reason I am asking this is that I want to contribute and what better contribution than teaching the Quran. But I am not a scholar. Can I and should I?

Yes of course, if you think that you have a good grip on a topic then teaching it to children is indeed a noble thing to do. As parents we also teach our children the Quran even if we’re not scholars ourselves.

If you think that you can give time to teaching activity on a consistent basis then you can also join a formal educational institute where they provide you with teaching materials as well as any support that you might require.
