Iddah In Case Of 10 Years Of Separation & Date Of Start Of Iddah?
My friends mother has been living separately for 10 years from her husband and after a lot of struggle has taken khula. The question here is does she need to observe iddat if she has not been in any marital relationship with her husband and the living accommodation has been different for 10 yrs. And when does the iddat period start ? Does it start as soon as the husband signs and accepts the khula or once the official khula document is given by the wakf board ?

In all cases where one is absolutely sure that the divorcee/widow is not pregnant there shall be no iddah. Obviously in such a case there shall be no other restrictions of the iddah as well.

The last part has to do with law of the country. So whatever’s the law in this regard, iddat period will start from that date.
