Is It Permissible To Delay Prayer Due To Potential Harm?
Ghamidi Sahb has often commentated on how it is permissible to move to the next secondary form of worship if there is hardship.
I was wondering, is it also permissible to delay prayer past it’s time if there is hardship in praying while walking or sitting?
For example, my shift at my hospital is very busy and keeps me from praying on time due to the high patient volume. I can pray in the hospital prayer room after work, but the walk to the prayer room is at least 15 minutes, causing me to miss my train home late at night. The next train would require me to wait an extra hour. I cannot feasibly pray while walking because the bathrooms on my ward are often very dirty, and there is a higher than average risk of contracting viruses from the toilet and faucet.
In this case, is it more appropriate to delay the train and pray, or pray once I reach home (a few minutes after Maghrib). I see a lot of hardship in delaying the train – especially since I have to get home and cook dinner, but I’m not sure what to do.
