If anybody follows Engineer Sahab’s videos, they know that despite having his share of differences with him, he gives the due respect to Ustaazum Ghamidi Sahab which others rarely do. Despite knowing this, we saw Ghamidi Sahab criticizing Ali Bhai on something he himself agrees to. That is, his view that: “Babon ka Khuda aur he, Kitabon ka khuda aur” even though Ghamidi Sahab himself has repeatedly claimed that Tasawwuf is in essence a whole religion parallel to Islam. Ali Bhai too has repeatedly clarified that by “Babas” he means Sufi Bazurgan. To me, Ustaazum’s criticism for once seems totally self-contradictory. If anyobody can clarify to me the basis of his argument I shall be grateful.

Ghamidi sahib never mentions Ali Mirza. His general criticism was on the understanding of history in the perspective of the conflicts between the companions that Romanticism leads to misunderstanding of history as well as society. Ground realities are to be considered while making political decisions. This points is not well taken by Mirza and He censured Ghamidi sahib for advocating Amir Muawiah.

I don’t understand why you would want to associate Mirza Engr with Ghamidi. Their approach to Deen is really different. Mirza engr is not so different from Ahle Hadith who are hadith dogmatists. You can see him using hadiths to go against established Sunnah.The only difference l have noticed is he doesn’t defend any elder ( Ulema or buzurgh ) blindly which is a good trait if he only disagreed in a respectful manner, which is usually not the case 😁. He is also very keen on defending the Ahle Bait which is also an admirable characteristic given if he also took historical-politically motivated distortion/fabrication in narrations to context, which he doesn’t. It would be great if he didn’t rely on isnad verification only and checked hadith against Quran, Sunnah, historical anachronisms, established principles and reasoning (matn analysis to sum it up )

With regards to Sufism being a parallel religion. I don’t have a problem with bringing (alien) mystical methods into Islam. Study the history of Islamic Thought and you will see Islam as it exists today is a historical product, a product of cross fertilization of many civilizations. Mysticism in itself is a pathway to God and it’s not for people who want to have a monopoly over the truth. I am not worried about the similarities of Sufi doctrine with other mystical doctrines in the world. It only increases my curiosity. Something very interesting is going on. Didn’t God say he could have united us all to Islam ? But he didn’t, this is a great secret of the Quran, a seed of tolerance you should water. Free your mind from the fear of misguidance.
