What to do if one believes in one God but religions don’t make sense to him with their rules and practices? Believing in God and living a good, moral life isn’t enough? Is it necessary to subscribe to a religion?

If one believes in God then logic dictates that one is ought to subscribe to God (not religion). What follows is simply one’s honest attempt at finding what God wants from him through most credible means availabe.

Isn’t the guidance that God has kept inside every human enough?

It may be enough in some special circumstances. But in normal circumstances, it is against human nature to not seek message of God in this world, if one believes in God. It is inevitable that one is bound to seek more answers. And in that search, one may or may not subscribe to any religion; but this search is inevitable. Or alternatively, one is bound to react or make a decision when presented with message of God. Therefore, giving a sweeping statement like this would be against human psychology.
