Assalamualaikum
i’v long hairs.I usually tie them..i also tie them while offering salah..someone told me that it is prohibited for men to have long hair nd i also cant offer salah while tieing them.
is it so ??

Based on this hadith https://sunnah.com/muslim:492, some scholar think its not ok.
There is nothing wrong in it.

The hadith does not forbid to have long hair, it seems to to let them untie during prayer to let hair too prostrate, and it is a manner to show more humbleness to God. However, it is not compulsory.
Men can have long hair, what they need to avoid is the resemblance with women.

These are etiquettes of Salah as to how one should pray with utmost focus and utmost concentration. The main objective of this directive is to ensure that during the prayer, hair and clothes should not be tampered with. The Prophet (sws) is reported to have said: “I have been ordered to prostrate on seven bones i.e. on the forehead along with the tip of the nose and the Prophet (ﷺ) pointed towards his nose, both hands, both knees and the toes of both feet and not to gather the clothes or the hair.” (https://sunnah.com/bukhari:812). This is in accordance with Quran, when Quran directed Muslims to safeguard the prayer, it has said: وَ قُوْمُوا لِِلّهِِ قَانِتِيْنْ (and stand before the Almighty with great respect, (2:238)).
