    Hello,

In a Hadith, it says that whoever misses Asr prayer, his deeds become nullified.

Narrated Abu Al-Mahh [??]: We were with Buraida in a battle on a cloudy day and he said, Offer the Asr prayer early as the Prophet said, Whoever leaves the
Asr prayer, all his (good) deeds will be annulled.

    Sahih Buhari 553

My question is that does this mean if a person leaves even one Asr prayer due to laziness (not due to rebellion). He becomes a disbeliever because of it?As Shaykh Uthaymeen said that only kufr nullifies all the deeds. Some hanbali scholars say that this nullifies his Islam, and i guess another Hadith is used to support this view…

Jabir reported: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Verily, between a man and idolatry and unbelief is abandoning the prayer.”

    Source: Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim 82

Grade: Sahih (authentic) according to Muslim

So does this mean that the person actually has committed an act of apostasy? And for example if my future wife misses one prayer of Asr due to laziness, would my marriage with her end up on the bases that she left one Asr prayer and so she did kufr and apostasy and now our marriage is dissolved. And if that is the case, then how shall i live in a married life in this time, because every other person in our time and society misses at least one prayer due to laziness even if they try to pray many of them, still they miss out.

    Please explain the concept

A common person should not need to concern oneself with so many legalities. The point to focus upon is that no one should knowingly miss any salat at anytime. If still a mistake happens, one should fix the mistake as soon as possible, sincerely repent, and find comfort in knowing that God has made it compulsory upon Himself to forgive those who repent immediately upon realizing their mistakes towards Him.

Furthermore, a marriage is a very serious matter. It does not automatically become invalidated by mistakes of others.

But brother this thought keeps making me worried as to what if my nikah dissolves, in a similar manner where it dissolves when someone from Muslim becomes a kafir. Or does apostasy.

You should not be worried. Nikah is a very serious matter and there’s nothing in Islam about its automatic invalidation.

I understand your point brother, but the thing you said about ‘automatic invalidation’. I had a thought that if a person does real apostasy(like changing his religion to Hinduism), wouldn’t his nikkah be automatically invalidated? Because i have heard many many people saying this that because they did apostasy, they actually fall in the category that it was Haram for a Muslim to marry a non-muslim in the first place, so now their nikkah is invalidated.

If the Hadiths above gives a hint about real kufr that takes one out of fold of Islam, wouldn’t the rulings come in place for it?

@Irfan76 Brother Irfan, can you also join us in this discussion, @faisalharoon brother explained me very nicely. Inshallah the discussion would be more good if you also join us.

    Thank you
