some people call it halal and some people people call it gambling, haram?
Arguments about declaring it haram is;
1: it has no physical entity.
2: it has no possession.

The mentioned reasons have no effect on a currency being Haram. If a digital currency is adopted in future it will be as good as the paper or plastic currency we use now. There is in principle no difference.
The element of deception which is the problem right now might be solved in future if the governments adopt it.
