Talking About Ulama
My question is ; I was talking to family members about how to understand the view point of Gahmidi sahib and why it makes a lot of sense. But they told me why dont you follow the big ulama of the past the famous ones. When I told them Ghamdi sahib’s interpretations of some hadiths & quranic verses , they told me then are the other ulama of the past wrong? Ghamidi sahib is right suddenly? I could not answer this question and while I was talking I said other ulama can be wrong. Maybe I did a little disrespect to other ulama by saying they lie and think with orthodox mind.
My question is how can I explain them why other big ulama’s of the past had total different view on hadiths and took it literally while Ghamidi sahib explains much clear like hadiths about beard and drawing. He explained it & I understand it now. But why did those other scolars took it literal and said like for example pictures are haram and beard is fardh from example.
2nd question is , Have I commited a huge sin by talking like that about those scolars while explaining? Because I heard if you disrespect an alim, God won’t grant you knowledge or takes away knowledge or something in these lines! Is that a valid view?
Kindly if someone can explain me this?

Most people are traditionalists by nature and they want to hold the traditions at any cost. So, when someone like Ghamidi SB appears ,who challenges the understanding of that tradition, it is not easy for them to review their traditional beliefs as it makes them uncomfortable. Plus, there are many false accusations on Ghamidi Sb that are spread commonly so they have a judgemental approach.
