Is Paan Halal?
‘Does Paan make you high? This actually depends upon the ingredients used in the preparation of Paan. In low doses, chewing betel nut produces a stimulant response similar to caffeine or nicotine. In high doses, it produces cocaine-like effects.’
I found this out and am wondering if it’s halal -

I am not aware of betel nut causing intoxication (impaired judgment). If you know of any scientific study on the topic please share a reference. As long as it is not an intoxicant, it cannot be considered haram.

Euphoria is not the basis of haram and halal.

Yes but one cannot make sound judgements in a state of euphoria which is think is being ‘high’

Euphoria simply means heightened feeling of excitement or happiness. In order to label something as haram, we have to be sure of it causing impairment of judgement.
