Zakat On Produce Other Than Agriculture At The Time Of Prophet Muhammad (Sws)
My first question is regarding zakat on salary. Working for someone and getting paid has been a norm. Dont we find any cases in the arab period of people getting paid. Why do we have to do ijtihad of production on this type of income.
Other questions are regarding the nisab
2] This nisab is as follows:
(a) Wealth: 5 uqiyahs / 642 grams of silver
(b) Produce: 5 wasaqs / 653 kilograms of dates
(c) Livestock: 5 camels, 30 cows, 40 goats
1- the nisab set in that period. Why do we have to follow them exactly. As the value of things at that have differed so much
2 – the nasab set for wealth is also for the assets of a business. And while calculating the nasab will get subtracted from the total asset?
3 – how will we calculate the nasab for production or salary as the price of a date range from 150rs to 4000rs per kg in Pakistan. Which standard will be used?
4 – the nasab calculated will be subtracted from the total salary and remaining salary will be 10 percent taxed?
5 – after paying zakat on salaries per month. One has to give zakat on the excess money at the end of the year as well??
Thanks
