Awliya Allah is not a special designation as assumed by Sofia. The pious ones who fulfill their obligations and love God are the friends and men of Allah.
There is nothing objectionable in this narration. This hadith narrates the relationship between a God-fearing pious Muslim and Allah. Infact, every muslim should aim to achieve this kind of relationship through his piety. However, no one has a way of knowing this, the only thing we can do is strive to achieve this relationship till our last breath. Whether a human being was successful in achieving this goal or not, will be revealed on the day of judgement. There is no concept of Wali or Walaiyat mentioned in Quran as a rank in the sight of Allah. The ranks mentioned in Quran are Anbiya, Siddeqeen, Suhahdah, Saliheen.
