General narrative is that if any person does {insert any good deed here} then his/her [insert any worldly related ambition/work here] will be successfull.

If something {worldly work/ambition/target} goes wrong or not achieved then it is because of {Insert any sin here}.

    My question is –

If we observe non muslims then their lives(person/social/family) are successful without even following Islam or doing good deeds as per Islam.

Generally, across globe muslim’s are failing in personal or family or social endeavours even after following all the good deeds as per Islam.

How is this situation possible ? and Is the way of thinking of general narrative correct ?

    Jazakallahu Khairaa

This general narrative does not come from religion, it is but a popular misperception.

@Irfan76 Could you please elaborate more about the origins of such perceptions and how it became mainstream narrative

God has told us that our life in this world is a test, and we will be judged in the hereafter for our deeds.

[He] Who created death and life to test you as to which of you does better deeds. And He is also Mighty and Forgiving. (67: 2)

However, at the collective level, the good and bad deeds of a nation or a people are rewarded or punished in this world too.

[They should not go about hastening the punishment. In reality,] there is not a city that We shall not destroy before the Day of Judgement or not inflict with a severe punishment. This is written in the register of God. [17: 58]

For individuals, certain deeds may have some worldly results but they depend upon God’s discretion.
