Quran 2:239 – Why Does Allah Say This If Arabs Already Knew About Salah?
بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيْمِ
فَاِنۡ خِفۡتُمۡ فَرِجَالًا اَوۡ رُكۡبَانًا ۚ فَاِذَآ اَمِنۡتُمۡ فَاذۡکُرُوا اللّٰهَ کَمَا عَلَّمَکُمۡ مَّا لَمۡ تَكُوۡنُوۡا تَعۡلَمُوۡنَ
Even if you are in danger, you must offer your Prayers anyhow on foot or on horseback. And when you have peace again, remember Allah in the manner He has taught you, *which you did not know before*.

Arabs knew it what was al-salah, but they had forgotten its rituals and other details. The prophet revived it. Gabriel came to teach the prophet the proper method and timings of the prayer, as it is described in a hadith.
