Ghamidi Sahab once said in one of his lectures that when meat can be grown in labs then the zabiha requirement for such meat will cease to exist (see YouTube link below).

The response may have been partly in jest but now that food companies like Good Meat are going for FDA approval for lab or factory grown meat (see referenced link below), I would like to know if this topic can be given some serious thought and we can get a more definitive answer to the question; is lab grown meat halal?
