  • Question On Innate Knowledge

Posted by Shamir on April 6, 2023 at 7:22 am

Can we speak of the existence of innate knowledge? If so, the strangest thing would be for man to possess knowledge of which he has not the slightest idea. Therefore, innate knowledge does not exist and all knowledge is obtained through investigation and analysis. “If knowledge were innate, it would be incredible that we are not conscious of having the greatest knowledge.”Kindly share your thoughts.

If your talking about the existence of one God and ability to differentiate right from wrong, then Quran tells us that it was given to humans.

About this physical world, yes we learn it

This potential and ability within us to create knowledge that we get from observation and experimentation is also a kind of knowledge. This idea seems strange to us because this is not the kind of knowledge in conventional sense which we are used to now a days. But this is the innate knowledge we possess (i.e. potential to create kowledge) which differentiates us from other living beings. Imam Farahi has called this ‘iztarai ilm‘.
