    Assalamualaikum

When you share a music or films or things like that, usually considered sinful in Muslim societies, it is considered that you, the person sharing, will also get the sin. This thing is understandable when e.g you are sharing some music/film with explicit sinful content. But with things which can be used both sinfully and unsinfully e.g sharing your music/Netflix account with someone. Now he can watch either good or bad movies, it’s his choice. Now if he watch bad movies, would i be sinful because i have shared my account?

    – For something secular in nature which also belongs to the personal domain of a individual, it is the act of the individual which makes him sinful if he commits a sinful act using those secular means.

    – For something sinful in nature which also belongs to the personal domain of a individual, the person helping that individual in achieving that sinful thing will be responsible to some extent (a minor sin) for facilitating commitment of that individual sin, but here the primary responsibility still lies with individual as well. And if the same person facilitating that sinful activity happens to be under some compulsion of job or of environement (e.g. airhostess serving alcohol or an employee at a grocery store in the US or UK), then the intensity of that minor sin would reduce even more.

    – For something sinful in nature which also belongs to usurping the rights of others or to oppression, then even the facilitation can become a major sin. Quran 5:2 uses وَ تَعَاوَنُوۡا عَلَی الۡبِرِّ وَ التَّقۡوٰی ۪ وَ لَا تَعَاوَنُوۡا عَلَی الۡاِثۡمِ وَ الۡعُدۡوَانِ [and help one another in what is virtuous and pious and not in what is sinful (حق تلفی) and oppressive] in the context of violating the sanctity of haram, haraam months and of prople’s lives who came for Hajj beyond what was ordained in response to violation by the oppressors first as it would tantamount to facilitation of oppression. And if this facilitation is for some financial gain, then such facilitation becomes even more sinful.
