    Assalaam aleykum

Riya(showing off) while praying is haram.

but what if i show (that i’m praying) with no intention of getting praised or for receiving compliments etc… but with the good intentions…

for example if i’m an influencer on social media, and i post a picture of me while praying and my intention is to give a message to the youngsters that it’s important to pray, it’s right way of living etc… and (I repeat) my intention is not to get compliments etc. from them.

Will it be still a bad thing? or a good thing because my intention is not bad but good…

    Thanks!

here your judge is your conscience. I do this for my kids and sometimes for my students. Since we can say that the intention is good and also it does not stand against God as something rival to God.

      So is it permissible right?

I had another question regarding this topic…

      (As far as i know)

if you show off while doing sadaqah (charity), that is also haram (shirk).

      and here my question was:

doing something good to people (like even giving/gifting a flower to someone to make them happy) is considered a sadaqah..

So what if i show off of this? Will it be considered haram(shirk)? Or this is another tipe of sadaqah?

I’m too confused in this topic,

      Please clarify this for me

      Thanks a lot.

These kinds of acts of kindness or niceness are not actual Sadaqah for God but care figuratively called Sadaqah to show that every good act is worth rewarding

      Okai.

So just for the clarification, shirk will be only in the religious things/matters.

like: prayer, charity, fast etc… right? And not in other matters..?!

      And one last question:

Sadaqah kartey waqt kiya yeh niyaat hona zaruuri hai ke “yeh sadaqah Allah ke liye hai (for the sake of God)” or phir wo sadaqah Allah qabool kartey hain..?

      For example:

If i donate some money to poor people, just because it filed me sad for them and not for the sake of God or to get the pleasure of God, will it still be a Sadaqah ?or just a good did because my intention was not for God.

Yours seems to be a mathematical mind, that is why you measure up everything in a mathematical manner, which is the problem for you. If you let things go in a natural way, it will help. Anyways we are here to discuss and guide as far as we know.

“Verily actions are only dependant on intentions, and everyone will get what he intended. Whosoever migrates with an intention for Allah and His Messenger, the migration will be for the sake of Allah and his Messenger. And whoever migrates for any worldly gain, then he will attain it, or to a woman then he will marry her, so his migration will be for the sake of whatever he migrated for.”

So it is not sadaqah but it is still a good deed, right?

Figuratively Sadaqa, not the actual one.
