  • Working More Than 20 Hours On Student Visa For Paying Fees?

Assalamu Alaikum, my question is: if a student knows he would need to do the jobs more than the allowed working hours (20 hours usually) in order to pay the university fee, accommodation and bills, will those income generated from extra working hours be haram? If yes, what should the students do who want to go to abroad for studies and need to pay their own fee?

That income would not be Haram since it is earned through one’s own hardwork. However, working for hours over and above the allowed hours would be a violation of their contract with the country / university for which a person will be held accountable and violation of a contract is in itself a big sin. The best way is to work everything out before one embarks on this kind of journey abroad.
