  • Exploiting A Loophole In The Affiliate Commission System

There are ways in which you can earn affiliate commission if someone signs up on a platform using your affiliate link, but the loophole is that they don’t confirm the emails so even fake ones are working, secondly this offer is only for those in USA but people from Pak are doing it using VPNs, the income earned this way would be haraam?

Exploiting a weakness like this in a company’s system is nothing but deception like signing up through fake emails or from ineligible countries using VPN. It is no doubt unethical and any income from this activity should be avoided. Ideally a company should have controls in place to identify such loopholes but at the same time, they are entrusting their affiliates for such sign ups which warrant some level of trust to begin with.

So, this will be haraam or is it a grey area? Is there a difference between unethical and haraam? In this case which one is it?

Whatever is unethical, is Haram as well.

There is no issue of any grey area here. Using fake emails and/or VPN to exploit the system’s loophole is an act of deception, and any associated income with such activity would also be impure.
