Thirty Years Of Khilafat According To Hadith
Could you explain the meaning of the below hadith and does it relates to rightly guided Khalifa, if so then, does not mean that Khilafah خلافت is a type of ruling in accordance to the teaching of Prophet PUH?
قال صلى الله عليه وسلم: الخلافة بعدي ثلاثون سنة، ثم تكون ملكا عضوضا؛ ولهذا قال معاوية رضي الله عنه بعد انقضاء الثلاثين سنة: (أنا أول الملوك)

When we read all the narrations on the topic, it becomes clear that these narrations are talking about “خِلاَفَةُ النُّبُوَّةِ” i.e. khilafah along the footsteps of the Prophet (the ones who can be called true successors of the Prophet). The word “خِلاَفَةُ” in these narrations has been used in literal meaning of succesorship. It is also used in parallel to Kingship in some narrations (Please see: Discussion 69505 • Reply 76208) i.e. “خِلاَفَةُ النُّبُوَّةِ” is in line with the princles of Quran while “Malukiyat” is not and it stands parallel to the principle of government formation in Islam (i.e. ‘amruhum shura bainahum‘).
