    Assallam u alaikum,

my question is that when it comes to Riya. we say that if someone does ibaadah for a worldly benefit reason then he is doing Riya (Shirk). if we say a person Accepts faith (accepting Allah, accepting his books etc) for worldly reason then it’s shirk.

We know that if someone accepts the Quran as word of Allah then it means accepting all the facts that are written in the book. so it means, acknowledging and accepting a fact written in the book, is what is accepting the book.

Now for example when a man/scientist tries to discover worldly facts, often his aim is to know the facts, accept them, and apply them to bring out worldly benefits for himself and others. for example a man wants to know the facts about Horses; so he can choose which horse, tame it properly, treat it properly with the just one aim, which is to get the best transport available and to get the most out of it for his own benefit.

similarly a Physician wants to know and accept the facts about Human make up so that he can benefit himself by treating himself and treat others and earn some money. He acquires the fact about human development (by performing experiments in lab) that the start of human biogenesis is a clot (zygote) which slowly transform into embryo (lump of meat). after knowing these facts he accepts them we well, so he can apply these facts in life to get benefit in life.

Now these same facts are written in Quran. but he accepted those facts as a physician with aim of worldly reasons. so he got to know the same fact (by his experiments) that are also written in Quran, but he accepts these facts with aim of worldly benefit. would it fall under shirk and Riya?

No. Worldly benefits are advised to get. It is disapproved when they are acquired at a time or occasion when they should not be acquired for God’s sake. For example to help a poor man and expect him to be grateful to you and then you make him do something to take benefit from.

When a worldly benefits is right or wrong to take can be told by our conscience.
