Moderator September 4, 2023 at 7:01 amIf the Capital is converted into means of production (e.g. equipment, shares and stocks etc.) then those means of production would be a source of production. If the capital is coverted into stock-in-trade for trading business then it would be part of welath. If the capital is kept in the form of cash then it would also be part of welath. It is the use of capital which will determine its status whetehr as means of production or as wealth.

I mean in which ways Islam doesn’t use Capital as source of production and in which ways western Capitalism doesn’t use Capital as source of production?? What’s the difference of Islam and western Capitalism in respect of using Capital in source of production??

Moderator September 4, 2023 at 8:02 amIslam prefers a hybrid economy where market forces are not to be tampered with unless absolutely necessary (for example, in dealing with basic necessities), while to counter the concentration of wealth (which is a necessary result of market economy), a public sector is formed which would own the public properties and its resources, to make sure poor and needy are taken care of.
