Muslims On The Act Of Ibrahim (as) And Muhammad (sav) Breaking The Idols
Asselamu aleyküm,
In our history, many Muslims have justified the discrimination of other people’s religions by destroying their worshipping places, from the act of Prophet İbrahim (as) and Rasulullah (sav) breaking the Idols, when they returned to their hometowns. We could say that Ibrahim (as) broke the Idols, because, he wanted to open the eyes of his people, as he left the biggest idol there and put his axe on the shoulder of that idol. When people brought Ibrahim (as) to the temple he said, “May be he did it”, to which his people themselves said “You know very well, they could not do that.” But, Our beloved prophet (sav) also did that, on the Muslim conquest of Khaybar.
What is the opinion of Ustad-e-Mohtaram (ha) on this matter and lastly, is there any occasion in which our beloved prophet (sav) make ease for non-Muslims to visit their worshipping places? I’ve heard the prophet (sav) have did that.
