Blaming Oneself For Childhood Trauma
Childhood bullying and other traumas cause severe form post-traumatic stress disorder. One of the ways to heal from it is to know that it was not that person’s fault and he should not blame himself. Rather, those were just circumstances that caused this.
Obviously illnesses are tests from Allah swt. And Allah also tells us that we face these hardships as consequences of our own actions.
My questions is, is it wrong for that person to not put the blame on himself for whatever happened to him? We can’t blame Allah either of course. Is it right to say that “it was not my fault and I am not to be blamed but circumstances were so that it happened”? Or would this be considered a lie?
