Even for activities other than Salah, can mere knowledge and knowing of something as right or wrong has the capability to manifest itself into action?

I ask this because there are times when I just can not pray or do anything – call it whatever, minor depression, laziness, zero drive or lack of motivation, or whatever.

The only thing I have is the KNOWLEDGE that I have to pray!

That’s it! Just based on this knowing of what I must do, how can I convert into action. Is this what Taqwa is? Ghamidi Sahab said, “Aqal ke haath mayn lagaam dena chahiye!” Is this what he means by it?

Should I just PUSH myself and DO IT?!

PS: I am aware that I can take help from neuroscience and psychology. No matter how systematically and strategically I maintain my Dopamine.levels, sometimes there are those days and moments where I just have ZERO motivation.

I ALWAYS fail during such situations and miss my prayers and the next day I feel guilty.

This loop has happened a lot since the past year now.

What do you guys do in such situations?

The obligatory prayers and other religious duties inculcate into us a sense of obedience. Obedience is not always willingly but also unwillingly. This creates a sense of submissiveness and this is the essence of being servants of God (Bandagi). So no matter what, we are supposed to fulfill our duties. Feelings may vary.
