Status Of Hadith In The Eyes Of Imam Farahi
Assalamualaikum!
In the 23 questions series part 18, Ghamidi Saheb says that we believe Quran and Sunnah because their nature of transmission is similar (i.e they’re being transmitted by tawatur of Sahaba followed by whole ummah with no difference whatsoever in 14 centuries).
He then goes on to say that Hadith at its maximum provides a zanni (not confirmative) knowledge about what the Prophet SAW did, but IF it is proven by research of its Sanad and matan that it indeed does seem to be the saying of the prophet with no considerable objection, then it becomes obligatory for a Muslim to follow it too. Have I understood that part correctly?
If yes, then I want to ask if similar was the position of Imam Hameeduddin Farahi on this issue?
