Asalam Alaikum, I have recently moved to Germany and before moving I was using the Sun Depression angles given by University of Islamic Sciences, Karachi to calculate Fajar and Maghrib times. Different prayer time conventions around the world use different depression angles to calculate prayer times. There’s no convention/research center in Germany that I should rely on and I am unsure which convention to follow as these depression angles are region specific. My question is which Convention to follow in which region?

For example, if I am in USA, I’ll be following the ICNA and if in Pakistan I’ll be using the University of Islamic Sciences Karachi but for the most of Europe there aren’t any region specific options.

Recently, an Islamic organization in France gave their own depression angles and I am confused if I should be using the French convention as it is closer to Germany or if I should be using the MWL (Muslim World League) Convention.

This is a matter of technical knowledge not a religious issue. Islam relies on ordinary observation of a man. However those who go into details and try to determine the times meticulously they can choose any model which they think or find is the most accurate.
