Naming A Child With Last Name Rahman
Assalamualaikum ustad ghamidi sahab , Allah (swt) blessed me with a baby girl ,my family wants to keep her name as Maryam rahman ,but someone told my wife that we can’t use just Maryam with “rahman” we need to add something like Abdul etc but for girl child in India it doesn’t sound good to add these names like Abdul . Is it really sinful to keep my baby name Maryam rahman , my name is Mohammed ateeq ur rahman

One of God’s names is Ar-Rahman, meaning the most gracious or the most merciful. Rahman without the prefix of Ar only means gracious or merciful, and there is no harm in naming your child Maryam Rahman.
