    Zakat-ul-Fitr Or Fitrana For Children

    We understand zakat-ul-fitr or fitrana is compulsory because it is presented to cover any shortcomings during the month of Ramadan. I need to understand why this has to be paid on behalf of the children. Is this because they are part of the household? Or I am completely mistaken and it should be paid by members of household who are adult and eligible to fast in the month of Ramadan. Please guide.
