Imam Ahmad ibn Hanbal maintains that performing the missed prayers in order is obligatory. He based his ruling on the narration that in the year of the Confederates, the Prophet performed the Maghrib prayer and when he finished he said, “Does anyone of you know whether I offered the Asr prayer?” They (the Companions) said, “O Messenger of Allah! You did not perform it.” So, the Prophet commanded the muezzin to pronounce iqamah (the call to commence prayer) and he offered theAsr prayer and then performed Maghrib again.” Imam Ahamd says that this is evidence for the obligation to offer the missed prayers in order.

If similar situation happen with someone should he need to offer maghrib again after asr and is this naration which is in brackets saheeh?

One should do the same way. However it is obligatory or not, this is not ordained by the prophet, here.

1.if someone missed asr and dhuhr due to sleeping or forgetfulness and prayed maghrib prayer on time and realised after words that he didn’t prayer asr and dhuhr..so after praying maghrib he can simplely offer dhuhr and asr…no need to repeat maghrib but it will be recommended to repeat maghrib but it will not be obligatory for him to repeat maghrib..Is my understanding correct?

2.if someone missed asr prayer and then offers maghrib prayer, isha prayer , next day fajr prayer and next day dhuhr and now realised he hasn’t prayed asr yesterday…so he just need to perform missed asr prayer of yesterday and won’t require to repeat any other prayer like yesterday maghrib and isha..is my understanding correct?
