    Is it practically possible for a woman to take the responsibility of one house only and be the head of the family and also have children with the only husband ( Considering husband would help raise the children)?

    @UmerQureshi

    I have a confusion in this regard, According to verse 4:34, spending money is not the only criteria, according to Molana Ahsan sb God has made Men with such qualities that he is able to take charge. So why take the second condition as primary for the house hold rule

      This is correct, no one is denying this point. Man has such innate qualities in his physical build which make him suitable to assume the role of the head and this includes both protection and the financial responsibility. The expression قَوَّامُونَ عَلَى النِّسَاءِ has been used by the Quran to convey this point. In Arabic, when the preposition عَلَى is used after the verb قَامَ, the meanings of “protection” and “financial responsibility” are incorporated in the verb. This in other words refers to heading a family and all these things are mutually essential. The Quran has given two reasons for this choice. This is how God wants the institution of family to function with Man being the head of the household which is in accordance with the nature humans have been created.

      But the question here is different. Since the Nikkah is an independent contract between a man and a woman for living permanently as a couple, so at the time of that contract, would reversal of these roles render the whole Nikkah redundant or is there room in the contract for both the parties to amend these roles as long as the the reality of Nikkah is not compromised. The answer to this question, according to Ghamidi Sahab is yes it can be done because this right of the parties need to be respected to agree to whatever conditions of Nikkah with mutual consent as long as the the reality of Nikkah is not compromised.
