There is no criteria to determine what punishment is justifiable to a crime.

The one who denied the existence of God with no excuse are at peak of their arrogance. So God announced the severest punishment for them. However if God decides to end their suffering, He can.

Thanks for your response Dr. Irfan, but still it is not vivid to me… we can say that e.g. this punishment is not just for this/that crime can’t we? we can compare the serverity of punishments can’t we ?… for example if a burgler cut a pocket we can not punish him by cutting his/her hand, it woulnt be justice … coming to my question, can’t we say that the punishment is very sever and it is not just to punish for ever.

This is subjective now. To some other it is justifiable. This is what God has decided.
