What is the duration of copyright expiration of any book according to Islam. The laws of different countries are different. Like in India it is author’s death plus 60 years. In USA it is 70. It is about the human law. What is the duration according to the religion. Because it is about harm against somebody’s right. According to this principle should not it be limited till the author’s death. And is there should be any consideration of publishers. Because a publishing house is a company. It will last all the time. If is even the 60 or 70 years after author’s death should be unislamic for the publisher.

Islam legislate only in the matters where human cannot formulate an appropriate law. The rest is their domain to legislate. The laws for the particular issue you cited are to made by man.

Man made laws can be different in different places and can be improved. One has to follow the laws and rules and norms one is dealing with.
