Sir, there are alit of Islamic sources to study this religion. But there’s ambiguity among scholars related to those sources, especially when it comes to the authenticity of the source, for instance consider the earliest book of Seerah, “Seerah ibn Ishaaq”, also the ahadith books, some scholar authenticate it,while others dont.

So how should a person deal with this authenticity problem, while studying the depths of our religion. this creates a huge confusion to me, because I’m closely related to some non-muslims who are well educated about the subject of comparative religion, nd when I start studying the depths of my own religion, the authenticity of those sources really gets me in trouble.

There are only two sources of religion: The Qur’an and the Sunnah ( the perpetual unanimous religious practices, transmitted from generations to generations, like prayers, fast, hajj etc).

The rest is history of the Muslims knowledge and Islamic sciences, which is created and transferred by the individuals. Therefore, this knowledge contains human error and unauthentic reports. It is an integral part of of this quest to know how to differentiate between authentic and unauthentic. The scholars have already done this job. At some occasions their research may differ from each other. Here one has to choose between their opinions or do his own research. This is how knowledge is acquired.
