    شہزاد سلیم صاحب کے مطابق قرآن مجید کے رسم خط میں بعض جگہوں پر اضافی حروف، جیسے الف یا واو وغیرہ، پائے جاتے ہیں، جنہیں وہ “کتابت کی غلطیاں” قرار دیتے ہیں۔ دوسری جانب، استاذ جاوید احمد غامدی صاحب کا کہنا ہے کہ قرآن کی کتابت انتہائی احتیاط سے ہوئی تھی؛ یہاں تک کہ ت کی لمبائی یا ۃ کی شکل جیسے معمولی امور پر بھی صحابہ کرامؓ نے غور و فکر کیا۔

    These errors occurred because the script was in its rudimentary form. The preservation of these errors with correct recitation is evidence that recitation of the Quran is intact and independent of the script.

    If the script was in a rudimentary form, does that mean it was meant to be written that way at the time? If so, how can it be considered an error? According to the narrations, the companions were aware that it was written incorrectly.

    But if the script was indeed still developing, why was it pointed out (even then, when the script was supposed to be rudimentary) that it was not written correctly?

    Human error is always possible but the way they wrote the letters then it was overlooked or ignored. The script was not that refined as we see it today.
