Prohibition is only when there is something unethical or immoral involved. If there is not a thing like that, everything is allowed. Playing cards is often associated with gambling therefore it is assumed that they are prohibited, but if gambling is not involved, the company is good, and other religious duties are not affected, it is allowed.
